big day out
music: everlasting love - club 8
mood: summer tired
as part of our sunday school's summer program, the children
were given some arts and crafts stuff. for five and six
graders that i'm teaching, they were taught how to make
things with balloons. you know those elongated ones that
they make into a dinosaur, dog, headgear, your pastor.. i
was not assigned to teach but figured i'd drop by to check
on them.
they were making a headgear when i arrived (one that
goes around their heads with some designs in front). they
were really enjoying what they were doing and after a few
moments i was silently pleading, "me too! me too!" pastor
bob somehow "discerned" my situation and handed me an orange
balloon (but i want the blue one). so for the next activity,
i joined them. he taught us how to make a dog, and i
listened attentively like a fifth grader would. after some
pretty simple directions, "kids, first make a small langoniza,
then make a bigger langoniza, then twist them together," we
were finished. mine looked more of a giraffe so i have to
adjust the length of the "langonizas." so using my engineering
skills, making some calculations as to the proper length of the
tail, feet and neck; i was able to make a good-looking dog.
i even made some modifications so it would look different from
the rest. and this i have to say with pride, i bested the rest
of the kids and i think i made the best dog balloon. *taas noo*
hahahaha!!!! i wonder what the kids would be doing next week. hmmm...
