it's been raining like crazy the past few days andonce again, valenzuela was erased from the philippine map. it's that time of the year when floods raise up as high as above the knees and pujs turn amphibious. in our area here in karuhatan, you have to wait for an hour for the waters to subside. and by that time, you are already late for work. that's the reason whyi didn't go to work today.
last night i was studying what the song "one way" is all about. i tried looking for some reflections aboutthe song but i wasn't able to find one. i watched the dvd for "more than life" and "for all You've done," but it turned out there were no comments made by the writer. sa hope kasi meron nun eh. the song was writtenby joel houston and jonathon douglass. the united version, though slower, is edgier and has more agressive attacks on the guitar. now i'm cramming, i still haven'tfigured out what to share tonight.
the wind is a little gustier today. it's a really bed weather.but i really have enough sleep already and i figured to update my journal. oh, last night i found out that chris tomlin will be releasing a new album this september. the title eludes my memory right now. but the cover shows a landing strip, an airport runway, something like that. he's my favorite among the three passion worship leaders. the album is of course released by sixstep records.

sleepy

i was so sleepy. i slept around one am
a while ago. good thing i'm already
finished with what i'm doing and i've
started on something new already.
errol texted me and asking me some
feedback about his studio and i said
it was quite fine. it has four amps, one
for bass, one for the keyboards and
two for the guitars. it has three shure
microphones, it makes some monstrous
feedback sometimes but it's okay. i
haven't tried it yet though, i just listened
while angus played. if you guys know the
band weezer, they sound exactly like them.

been listening to a worship sampler and this
song from ccc "lift him higher" really caught
my attention. it was funky and danceable and
the musicianship was over the top. the song
tipped in around six minutes but it was ok.
also the song "beautiful" from vineyard is well,
beautiful. the opening stanza has a melody
similar to that of the calling's "wherever you may
go." it starts quietly at first then the volume
and intensity increases as the song progresses.
a cebuano indie band, still, once played this song
and their version is good. they were the same guys
who added u2's outro to "with or without you" to
the same song from vineyard, "hungry."

seafood wharf

kumain kami sa isang seafood restaurant
dito sa may roxas boulevard. may supplier
kami na taiwanese na tinreat namin dun.
dalawa sila kasama yung wife nya tapos
kasama yung tsg team namin kaya anim
kaming lahat. di talaga ako mahilig sa mga
pagkain na nanggagaling sa shell (tahong,
talaba, etc) pero kagabi parang masarap
yung pagkakatikim ko dun. hehe. siguro
dahil libre. hehe. pero masarap talaga yung
pagkakaluto eh. anyways, 10 na kami umalis
kaya twelve na akong nakarating sa bahay.
uminom ako ng softdrinks kahit iniiwasan ko
nang uminon nung matagal na kasi para
matunawan ako ng maigi. excuse me. hehe.

earlier habang nagdi-discuss yung taiwanese
tungkol dun sa product, "opopor" siya ng
"opopor" ayun pala "output port" yung sinasabi
niya. hehe. pero ang galing niya magdiscuss,
highly-technical pero madaling maintindihan.
maganda yung product kasi ganito yun,
mayroong isang equipment na gagamitin ka
para mapagsama yung 3 cellphone operators
gamit yung isang sets ng antenna at cable. kaya
instead of using 3 separate sets of cables and
antennas you would only have to use one. galing
di ba? para silang friends na nagshe-share. hehe.
pero nung diniscuss nya sa globe medyo
may pag-aalinlangan ata sila. hehe. pero yung
smart medyo positive yung reaction.

bukas second time kong magsusuot ng barong,
ikakasal kasi yung pinsan kong lalaki tapos ako
ang mag-aabay. yung first time na nagsuot ako
ng barong nung nag-abay din ako sa kasal ni
kuya manny. ano kaya no, pag may kasal mga
super hero costumes ang suot. yung tipong
justice league ang motiff. o kaya yung mga abay
naman naka basketball uniform tapos yung bride
ang muse at yung groom ang escort. yung mga
major sponsors naman naka-suot ng damit na
pang-committee tapos mga parents naka-pang
referee. hahaha. pang referee, how appropriate.
hehe. pam-barangay na sytle.

enough with the hiatus

after a month of absence, i was finally able to pick myself up and now
continue from where i left off. last night we continued with our song
exposition. ganito kasi, before our team sing a new song, we study the
song in detail: it's meassage, relevance, scriptural references, etc. i
remember the last time we did this was a month ago and it was my
birthday (the guys threw me a not-so surprise party after my discussion). it
was the nails in Your hands that we discussed, the song was written
by richard cimino. last night we did unashamed love by ten shekel shirt.

before we started with our activity, i asked the team what's the most
shameful thing they did in the name of love. hehe. someone said, she
kept an sms message of her boyfriend for two years (and counting). hmm..
i wonder what it said. hehe.. another have a compulsive behavior of buying
things he thought the girl he is courting would like.. after that, i gave some
examples of biblical figures expressing their unashamed love to God. of
course we all know about David dancing in the streets without much clothing
and the lady who wiped Jesus feet with her hair and with perfume that costs
about a year's wage. whew..

made a mixed cd for a friend of mine from general santos city. most of the
songs, i've downloaded from an american indie label called tooth and nail.
you might want to check out www.toothandnail.com . most of the bands here
play melodic punk and some are professing Christians. there's this band named
further seems forever it was Chris Carrabba's band until he left to form
dashboard confessional. i'm pretty sure dashboard confessional is not a
Christian band, their song vindicated is included in the spiderman 2 soundtrack
along with switchfoot's dare you to move. have you guys seen their video? it's great..
it's a departure from the sound that we're so familiar of, we're greatly acquainted with
the band because of their song only hope. and thanks also to mandy moore. hehe.
i also added some p.o.d. videos which kuya downloaded from their site. from the
video's opening, you will see sonny sandoval doing an altar call. astig. then i added some
united, sonicflood, lincoln brewster, delirious? and david crowder. guys please don't sue me.
