I'm losing sleep but not losing heart. I'm losing strength but not losing hope. because you have given and have taken away. May your Name be forever praised.

labor day

music: holy is the Lord - chris tomlin
mood: dear tummy, don't fail me now

our youth worship team was asked to play for
the pastor's kids this afternoon, this is still
in line with the ongoing CAMACOP GA in UP. i'm a bit
confused because it is supposed to be a worship
set but they said we need not to prepare the
lyrics to the songs. i figured how would they be
able to sing along without the lyrics? still we
insist that the lyrics be prepared. i'm really not
sure if all of the attendees there are familiar
with the songs that we would be singing so we made
a chop suey lineup. our worship set is:

1. joyful joyful we adore Thee
2. now that You're near
3. hungry
4. all for love
5. shout unto the King

the last two songs are new from United, coming from
their latest release, "look to You" the first
song is an upbeat version of a hymn. i guess we're
all familiar with the second song, even my 3-year
old niece knows that. hungry.. well, it's from vineyard
and it was written by kathryn scott. not many people
know that song i guess. we "stole" still's version of
it, adding "i can't live Jesus without You" in the
ending using U2's "without or without you" melody. you
can actually do that because they follow the same chord
pattern, only that "with or without you" is two steps
higher.

i will be pinch-hitting for the guitars since dave is
not available, he will be taking his prelims as we play.
the event starts in two hours, i'm still here in the
office typing away. i hope i can make it on time. hehe.

no office on monday. yeheeeyyyyy! hehe. this would be
a very loooooooong weekend.

music: in a different place - ride
mood: ang init...

here are some of the pictures from our recent
visit to hongkong where we attended an electronics
trade show. i wish we could have stayed a little
longer there.

there were a lot of people there, it was like being
on the site of tower babel before it was strucked down
by God. i met some nice people too, left photo shows my
good friend anakin. don't be fooled by his looks because
he is a rather jolly person. we talked about politics,
world domination and stylish leather boots. he also has a
talent for lifting things up without touching them. the
last time i heard, he joined the dark force. it's so sad,
he could have been in our hand mime ministry.

i did not get the name of my other friend (middle pic). but
from his hair i can tell he's a big bob marley fan. being
the music fan that i am, we easily clicked. we talked
about reggae and ska. i asked him what he thinks of the
first 50 dates soundtrack and he said 311 is a dorky band and
jason mraz should learn how to properly wear a cap. i asked
him who does his braids, it's his little sister.

i insisted on climbing over gundam's shoulder to have a picture
with him but he said he just came from an intergalactic battle
and is still smoking hot, i might get some blisters. i asked
him if i can try his weapon out, he said yes but he cautioned
me not to try it on expat's cars. so i blew off the train instead.

we also went to ocean park where we wathced the dolphin show
and got a kick trying out the rides. but those are pretty lame
stories. and oh, there were a lot of song hye kyo lookalikes
in hongkong.

blah

this is my fourth day here in the south and i am not exactly enjoying my stay here. but i am quite happy that at least i have something to do and i will be having extra income this next pay day. i understand i will be doing this again sometime in the future. so i have psyched myself for it.

hurray for the internet cafe, at least i have something to do here while i wait for my testing to complete. thumbs down for the temperature here, it's like 38 celsius here and we are being cooked by the second. plus the dust hurts my skin and my eyes, i look like a palaboy here.

i went to the airport a while ago and i don't even know where it is. but the weird thing is i don't even care if i get lost. the airport doesn't even look like an airport at all and it doesn't look like you'll find an airport here. anyway, i got there and i didn't get lost. i had a hard time talking to people because i don't have a slightest idea to what they're saying.

i miss her.

big day out

music: everlasting love - club 8
mood: summer tired

as part of our sunday school's summer program, the children
were given some arts and crafts stuff. for five and six
graders that i'm teaching, they were taught how to make
things with balloons. you know those elongated ones that
they make into a dinosaur, dog, headgear, your pastor.. i
was not assigned to teach but figured i'd drop by to check
on them.

they were making a headgear when i arrived (one that
goes around their heads with some designs in front). they
were really enjoying what they were doing and after a few
moments i was silently pleading, "me too! me too!" pastor
bob somehow "discerned" my situation and handed me an orange
balloon (but i want the blue one). so for the next activity,
i joined them. he taught us how to make a dog, and i
listened attentively like a fifth grader would. after some
pretty simple directions, "kids, first make a small langoniza,
then make a bigger langoniza, then twist them together," we
were finished. mine looked more of a giraffe so i have to
adjust the length of the "langonizas." so using my engineering
skills, making some calculations as to the proper length of the
tail, feet and neck; i was able to make a good-looking dog.
i even made some modifications so it would look different from
the rest. and this i have to say with pride, i bested the rest
of the kids and i think i made the best dog balloon. *taas noo*
hahahaha!!!! i wonder what the kids would be doing next week. hmmm...

King - Tree 63

We have heard the thunder We have seen the storm Echoes of your kingdom coming Rumors of our home Where one day we will stand before you Lord Our altogether beautiful reward CHORUS: And we will give you glory bring you honor King above all kings You deserve our everything We will lift our voices with your praises Jesus you are our king Though now we walk in darkness Though now we see in part Right now we're warmed by the burning flames Of the fire in our hearts You've promised you would lead us to your throne Where we will worship you and you alone

t.i.r.e.d.

music: i can't stop smiling - velocity girl
mood: burned out but figured out

Isaiah 40:30-31
New International Version (NIV)

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

the passage above arrived in my inbox this morning, it was an
sms message from khris (i've been getting a lot of encouraging
messages from this Jesus raver). i was surprised because it was
the same Book that i have been reading, and im on the very same
chapter last night. its message hit me just now and i guess if
khris did not do the follow-up, i would've not gotten its message.
but the truth is, im really familiar with the verse, in fact; i
have those verses on my shirt. i really don't know why its
message didn't come across, God made it sure this time it will.

i made use of my God-given talents in response to the Great
Commission. i never missed church except those times when im
out of town doing field work. i enjoyed it and felt privileged
to do the things that i love doing and use it for God's glory. but
now, after 11 years in the praise team and 3 years teaching sunday
school, i feel tired. things start to drag and things start to
get difficult.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

one of the things that got stuck in my head when i attended the seminar
by hillsong's ruth athanasio is this: you need to be refreshed in
your ministry and you need new revelation from God, if not you will
experience burn out.
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

in all of life's concerns, things just lead to the throne of God.
i will lay my struggles of 'slacking up' and 'getting into the
groove' at His feet. at His feet where lives are saved, where
broken hearts are restored, where problems are solved, where
grace and mercy are freely given. Father these hands fail me,
restore my strength. Father these eyes fail me, restore my vision.
Father my mind fails me, grant me your wisdom. Father my heart
fails, renew my heart.
When All Around Has Fallen
Delirious?

When all around has fallen your castle has been burned
You used to be a king here now no one knows your name
You live your life for honour, defender of the faith
But you've been crushed to pieces and no one knows your pain

Come, come lay your weary head be still my friend
Come, rise I'll place my sword upon your shoulder
Come, rise with me

When tomorrow has been stolen and you can't lift your head
And summer feels like winter your heart is full of stone
Though all your hopes have fallen your skin is now your only armour
Wear your scars like medals defender of the faith

Come, come lay your weary head be still my friend
Come, rise I'll place my sword upon your shoulder
Come, come lay your faithful head, be still my friend
Come rise with me

of mice and men

music: famous one: chris tomlin
mood: hopeful

spare si uncle kaya yun yung ginamit namin. after two or
wires at at the back of my mind etong sinasabi ko:

THIS MEANS WAR!

ni-report ko sa minister of defense (a.k.a. nanay ko) yung
ibang kagamitan sa bahay kaya the following day bumili sya ng
then saturday morning, habang inaayos namin ni kuya yung chords
